The other day my son Cohen was telling me how much he liked me and so for fun I asked him,
“Cohen, what do you like most about me?”
“I like your eyes, because they see me.”
There is such power in being seen, isn’t there? We all want it – to have the undivided attention of someone we love – to not only be noticed but to be known and understood.
Do you know that Father God sees you? He is mindful of you. He knows you through and through. He understands you.
And when He looks at you, His first thought isn’t one of judgement, but of love. Father isn’t constantly evaluating whether you are good or bad, obedient or disobedient, productive or unproductive. First and foremost God turns His attention to you to enjoy who you are, to feel what you feel, to speak love and affirmation right into your places of doubt and fear.
“Love is attention without judgment. In its natural state, attention only appreciates.” – Deepak Chopra
On May 2nd I’ll be apart of a free online retreat hosted by Thrive Moms and I’ll be sharing more on this topic in a talk titled “The God Who Sees”. I’d be honoured if you’d join me! Check it out here.
