Unfinished Business

We’re moving into our renovated house in 2 weeks.  This is what it looks like right now:

So it’s not quite finished…but I’m not worried.

Yesterday my mom took me for lunch and asked, with one of those knowing, mom-looks, “So, how are you holding up?  Feeling stressed?”

“I’m actually feeling great!”

I’m so blessed to have a lovely new place and the people in my life to help fix it up.  I’m blessed to be married to an enthusiastic, hard-working man who is so patient with me, even when I’m not always with him.  I’m blessed to have my two best friends in town for this month and their awesome husbands/fiances, who have all shown such love and support to me.  I’m blessed.

So if I move in and there is no running water in the kitchen – or perhaps no kitchen period, I’ll be fine.  I’ll shower at my Aunt’s down the road (that’s okay right Aunt Sandy??), I’ll eat sushi from Sobey’s, and I’ll smile because all the things that matter most won’t have changed a bit – my family, friends, church and most importantly, my God.  His mercies are brand-spankin’ new every morning.  They don’t need days and weeks for renovations.  So I’ll depend on Him.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3: 22-23
