Are you working towards a dream and feeling like you don’t know what the next step is? Does it seem like you’re always giving and getting nothing in return?
Let’s talk about reaping and sowing.
The bible is so clear on many, many occasions about how this all works. If we want to see our lives bearing good fruit, we need to sow.
But the hardest part of this is –
we don’t always reap in the same area we sow.
Lemme explain further.
Maybe right now you’re sowing into your family with all you got (this is where I’m at right now). And while you’re sowing into your family with your time, energy, effort, creativity, etc. you’re really wishing you could also be sowing into your business or other creative outlets because you want to see them grow too!
Well what if the sowing and reaping principle isn’t defined by categories like business, family, ministry, etc?
What if by simply sowing into the area God has put us in RIGHT NOW, we will actually reap a harvest in other areas of our life as well.
Perhaps by being faithful in your role as mother, father, sister, brother, wife, husband – you will actually bring a harvest in other areas of your life, such as your business, education, ministry, etc.
This has been my experience. I’ve watched someone close to me consistently sow into the dreams of other people, in an area they really want to see fruit in their own life. However, instead of seeing fruit in this area (I realize this is vague, but stay with me here), they are seeing it in the growth of a completely different area!
I’m continually reminded that God is not limited by our boxes. He doesn’t see lines and boundaries where we see them. He is not contained by categories.
Instead, He says
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” 2 Corinthians 9:6
Give when the giving is hard.
Don’t hold back from pushing others ahead and pouring into them, even when it feels like it’s not getting you closer to where you want to be.
It is getting your closer!
The sowing you do here and now will show up in a harvest later, perhaps in a completely unexpected place.
James 3:18 “Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.”
