One of My Heros

I am seriously blessed with an AMAZING family.

My husband and son (here’s Cohen’s 3 Month photo!)

My awesome parents and sibling (in-laws included!!!), my nephews, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins…I could go on and on.

But today I want to talk about one special lady – my Grandma Wiebe.

This lady is my hero.

She in an inspiration.

Grandma Wiebe is special for so many reasons:

She is a spiritual powerhouse! My grandma has so much wisdom and insight and imparts it in the most loving and gentle way.  She knows exactly how to encourage, but also how to challenge.  She speaks the truth in love.  I know very few who can do it as graciously as her.

She’s a generous giver.  The lady is ALWAYS baking, cooking, cleaning and crocheting for others.  You can’t leave her apartment without a jar of jam, a ziplock bag of meat buns or a container of “pink jam cookies”.  And if you ever need help with anything, she’s the first to volunteer.  (Just before I had Cohen she made us 20 meals for our freezer, including 100 homemade perogies!!!)

She is FUN!  Even though she’s in her seventies she is one of my best friends and I love hanging out with her.  We play cards, bake, sing and paint.  She helped me move last summer, carrying boxes and all!  We sing in opera voices and go for brunch.  And you should see her with her great grandchildren…she can keep up with the best of them.

She is just an amazing women and I’m so blessed to have her.

Grandma, you call me your “schatz” (treasure in German) but the real treasure is having you in my life!

I love you!!!

Who inspires you?

  1. Wonderful to have a grandmother like that! I live in my wife’s country, and she has a grandmother too that we visit all the time. Just like yours, she cooks the most delicious meals and is a great friend to the whole neighbourhood. Grandmothers rule!
