Do what you Love with Love

To me, the color RED represents passion.  What is your passion?

Do you love to write? Sing? Paint? Sew? Take brilliant photos?

Or maybe its cooking, cleaning, mothering or mentoring that gets you fired up.

Whatever it is, my question is,

“Are you doing it?

Are you doing what you love?”

Look back at your life over the last week, or even month.  How much of your time was spent on your passion?  An hour a day?  A couple hours?  Or only a few minutes?

I found this great quote the other day (that I tweeted yesterday), which says

Wherever you go,

go with all

your heart.

~ Confucius

I translate this to mean,

Do what you Love and do it with Love.

My #1 Passion in this life is my relationship with Jesus Christ.  I also love speaking and writing.  In fact, this weekend I’ll be speaking at my first event since Cohen was born and I can’t tell you how excited I am, cuz I LOVE it!  However, it takes a real sacrifice of time to keep this passion alive.  Especially because these days,

my biggest passions are this guy,

and this guy.

Supporting my husband and raising my son are the two things I feel called to the most in this season of my life.

What about you?

Once you’ve figured out what you love to do, make time for that passion in your everyday life.

Schedule it in.

This may mean saving up for that camera you really want to take your photography to the next level.  Or trying that recipe you’ve been thinking about for the past few weeks.

And whatever it is you do,

do it with LOVE.

Not for success, not for fame, not for money or popularity,

but for LOVE!

“And if I have a faith

that can move mountains,

but do not have love, I am nothing.”

– 1 Corinthians 13:2

3 Practical Steps you can take this week to do more of what you love, with love:

1. Take stock: Look back over your calender and highlight the days you’ve taken time to pursue your passion.  How do you feel about the amount of time you’ve been able to dedicate to what you love most?

2. Look ahead: Write down 3 goals for the next month, goals that are in line with pursuing your passion.

3. With Love: Pray over this list and ask God to help you approach all of your endeavors with love.  If you’re doing it for any other reason, ask him to reveal it and change it.

I’d love to hear what one of your goals for this month are.

Leave a comment or write your own post.  Writing it down and posting it may be the accountability you need!

  1. What a great post Heather! I think this is true for everyone who may read this. There are so many things to do in a day and not enough time it seems! I really enjoy reading, but since I started “blogging” I have not been reading books, just blogs!

  2. Thank you so much for this post! I love your writing. Your blog is so so refreshing and inspirational. It challenges me to dig deeper. Keep going 🙂
