Yesterday we celebrated Claire’s first birthday. She turned one on April 1st, but we didn’t do much celebrating then because poor girl had a fever all day. Instead we saved all the presents, decorations and yummy snacks for Sunday, and enjoyed it with some of our friends and family.
Unlike Cohen’s first birthday party, which I began planning months in advance, I only started working on Claire’s pink & gold themed party on Tuesday! Oops. Poor second child. But I think it all came together and thanks to my cupcake-making mama and tutorials on how to make giant tissue paper flowers, it even looked pretty cute!
Claire is such a sweet gift from God. Her squinty-eyed smile, how she says “Da-dee” while excitedly scooting over to him when he gets home from work, the way she lays her head on my shoulder – I feel so blessed to be her mama. My baby is growing up so fast and because she’s likely our last one (I know, I know, you all think I should have more. You and my mom both), it makes this milestone even more significant. Happy birthday, baby girl. We love you more than you’ll ever know.
