A Real Gem

Do you struggle with a secret sin?  Do you feel stuck?  Are you in a place of shame, guilt, fear or hurt?  Here’s a bit of hope for you:

God doesn’t see you as you are right now, He sees you as all you can be!

He doesn’t treat you as your sins deserve, but as an heir and co-heir with Christ.

He doesn’t call you a sinner, but a saint!

Wow.  What amazing grace.

A couple of weeks ago I was at a worship night led by my amazing friend Amanda Falk (who has a great new album out btw: www.amandafalk.com) and God spoke to me.  I asked him how he saw me and he showed me a big rock like this…

It looked rough and unimpressive.  But then the picture changed and he showed me a purple gem, like this…

“This is how I see you my daughter, as the gem inside that rough stone.”

God sees you as the gem not the rock!  Of course he knows where you’re at right now, he knows you need refining, forming, molding.  But he doesn’t hear the prayers of “a sinner” – he hears and responds to the prayers of one of his beloved children!  He looks at you not with disappointment, but with pleasure and pride.

Take a moment today and ask Him what he thinks of you.  Ask and listen for his loving response.

Matthew 7:7-11 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.  Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?  Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?  If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

  1. Hey heather,
I asked god what he thinks of me, and I’m not exactly
sure but when I closed my eyes
and asked , I felt like I needed to open them so I did, and
saw a tree! But then it hit me, I’m like a tree, I reach to through my
branche’s (emotions, efforts,) and try what I think be my hardest to
reach god but I just didint realize that with god, I can do but not on my
    own, thanks,
love you ( ps: you’ve helped me so much! Thankyou!)
    Natasha : )
